Seamless Connectivity Solutions for Pipecraft's Waitsia Gas Project
Client Profile
Pipecraft, a leading organisation in the pipeline sector in Western Australia, was contracted on the Waitsia Gas Project in 2022, requiring robust network connectivity across three offices situated 400 kilometres north west of Perth. Spanning two years, the project was dependent on reliable data access for operations.
The Challenge
Pipecraft needed efficient and uninterrupted network connectivity. The goal was to ensure seamless communication, data access and operational continuity for the duration of the project.
Solution
We proposed a comprehensive system to address Pipecraft's unique requirements:
Next G modem on a trailer-mounted mast
A Next G modem was installed on top of a nine-metre trailer-mounted mast, providing elevated and reliable connectivity for the area. This innovative solution ensured optimal signal strength and coverage.
Network distribution to three site offices
The system included network distribution to three on-site offices, each equipped with essential office infrastructure including a network switch, wireless access point, network connectivity for printers and a UPS for equipment protection.
Wi-Fi Calling and Network Access
Wi-Fi calling was seamlessly integrated into all offices through network wireless access points. The Next G modem mounted on the mast extended Wi-Fi calling capabilities to the laydown area, enhancing communication efficiency.
CB Base Radio Installation
To further bolster communication capabilities, a CB base radio and associated base antenna were installed in the admin office, ensuring reliable communication across the site.
Results
The solution provided Pipecraft with a robust and reliable network infrastructure, overcoming the challenges posed by the remote area. The Next G modem on the mast, coupled with Wi-Fi calling capabilities, facilitated efficient communication and data access across all offices.
Our tailored approach not only met but exceeded Pipecraft's expectations, ensuring uninterrupted connectivity for the entire duration of the Waitsia Gas Project.
